How to get more done with less effort

Keep it simple stupid

Lemme know if the following sounds familiar:

You start off with a clear calendar and you schedule your weekly to-do list, maybe you’re hardcore and time block every single hour as well.

Then Monday comes along and you finish most of your to-do list, the rest you drag over to Tuesday.

Then Tuesday comes along, you finish only half of your to-do list and the rest you drag over to Wednesday, and the cycle continues until at the end of the week you have a pile of unfinished tasks that you don’t know what to do with, so what do you do?

You just drag them over to the next day.

It can feel like you’re running on a treadmill of to-do lists, you’re putting in a ton of effort but not actually getting anywhere.

Which is why in today’s email I want to share a few tips on how to get more done with less effort.

It's all about working smarter, not harder. Here's how:

1. Prioritize Ruthlessly:

Not all tasks are created equal. Identify your top priorities and focus your energy there. Use the 80/20 rule, 80% of your results come from 20% of your efforts.

2. Set Clear Boundaries:

Learn to say no. It's essential for maintaining focus and energy on what truly matters. Protect your time like it's your most valuable asset (because it is).

3. Automate Repetitive Tasks:

Embrace technology to streamline your workflow. Build systems with Notion and automate repetitive tasks with Zapier or Make.

4. Take Regular Breaks:

It sounds counterintuitive, but taking short breaks can boost your productivity. Try the Pomodoro Technique, work for 25 minutes, then take a 5-minute break.

5. Simplify Your Systems:

Don't overcomplicate things. A simple, straightforward system is often more effective than a complex one that is hard to maintain. Less is more.

6. Focus on One Thing at a Time:

Multitasking does not work. Give your full undivided attention to one task at a time and watch the quality and efficiency improve.

Remember it's not about doing more, it's about doing what matters.

You’ll get more work done by finding ways to do less work rather than putting more to-do’s on your plate.

And to do this you need to have systems in place, which is where Notion comes in.
