Break The Wait: 5 Quick Fixes for Procrastination

How To Combat Procrastination

Ever found yourself saying, "I'll start tomorrow," but tomorrow never seems to come?

Yeah, me too. Procrastination is like that sneaky friend who always leads you down the wrong path… “come with me, I’ll ruin your life, but it’ll be fun.”

No more, this email will share 5 practical tips on kicking procrastination to the curb.

This isn't just advice, this is your experiment for the following week to see how much of a difference these small changes will make.

5 Easy procrastination killers:

  1. Break It Down:

Overwhelmed by a big task? Chop it into bite-sized pieces. It's like eating a pizza slice by slice, rather than shoving the whole thing in your mouth. Start with a small, manageable task and work your way up. It’s about small consistent wins.

  2. Set Mini Deadlines:

Have a project due in a month? Set mini deadlines for each part of it. It’s like having checkpoints in a video game, they keep you on track and moving forward.

  3. Reward Yourself:

Finished a task? Treat yourself. It could be a coffee break, a quick walk, or an episode of your favorite show. As long as it’s not a distraction that will break your momentum.

  4. Find Your Why:

Connect your task to a bigger goal. Want to ace that class? Think about how it brings you closer to your dream job. It’s all about finding the internal motivation.

  5. Eliminate Distractions:

Create a distraction-free zone. Put your phone in airplane mode and in another room and make sure you don’t have any distraction triggers around you. If you make it impossible for yourself to become distracted then you’ll automatically be focused.

It’s okay to make mistakes and get distracted here and there, I myself get distracted sometimes and need to snap myself out of a YouTube shorts doomscroll. The important thing however is how quickly you get back on track and focus on what’s important.

Overcoming procrastination is all about taking small, consistent steps. Just remember, progress is progress no matter how small.

Hope this helps
